Andrea Giles 

Andrea Giles is a young woman who lives in Tjukurla Community where she is raising her young family. Andrea grew up between Docker River and Tjukurla communities. Andrea paints in the traditional way, using brushes and purnu like most Tjukurla Artists, however she has a unique interpretation of form and colour, using dynamic shapes and contemporary colour schemes to express her country and culture.

Minyma Tjukurla

The young women are travelling around the country near Tjukurla with the older ladies. They are learning many things about where to collect special grasses and flowers and other types of bush tucker. This knowledge is recorded in the motifs and symbols which have been used in Western Desert visual culture for countless generations, and which the artists now deploy in the new medium of acrylic painting.
