Nerida is an established artist and the chairperson for Tjarlirli Art. She was born near Cosmo Newberry and is one of six children. Her mother, Mrs E. Giles, was a celebrated Western Desert painter and traditional knowledge woman.

Nerida spent her early childhood years in Western Australia before moving with her parents to Docker River settlement. She currently lives at Tjukurla and spends her time between Tjukurla and Alice Springs where she is furthering her studies as an Aboriginal Health Worker.
